Fucking cunting arse. I didn’t get that sysadmin job. And what’s more, they didn’t even tell me. I had to get the friend who used to work there to ask around about and he told me. Ugh. Rude bastards. And the reason for the rejection was that someone else “had more experience”. I’m getting rather sick of that phrase. Apparently it turns out that six years supporting Apple products counts for absolutely nothing.

So as of the end of Friday this week, I’m officially unemployed. 🙁 I’ve applied to a number of jobs and on the whole have heard nothing at all, beyond the occasional “You didn’t get the role” emails.

  1. STUPID JERKS 🙁

I’m really sorry to hear that. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you’ll find something else. I wish you guys were a little more local so I could be more useful than just “thinking positive thoughts.” Cause that doesn’t feel very useful, all things considered.

    1. Ugh. It really sucks.

Having been working somewhere quite happily for six years, then being made redundant and realising you don’t actually have that much by way of skills that any other employers are after kind of blows. :\

  2. And what’s more, they didn’t even tell me.

that’s pretty standard, at least from my experience.
you’ve just gotten used to being such a fucking nerd <3 that you don't know any better 🙂

    you'll be fine, don't worry.
my last day at luna is tomorrow, so if i was still in sydney - we could hang out and be unemployed bums together!

trust me, 6 years in a job shows real commitment & any decent employer will see it.
plus apple is taking over the world, so i'm positive your skills will come in handy.

OR you can move to melbourne & work at chaddy with chris! (i heart chadstone)

this feeling is all new/scary to you - because you've always been stable in your job.
us regular shmucks are used to being unemployed at times 😛

    1. I could get you a job at Chaddy!

It’d be worth hitting up Nurmi and working at Chatswood, at least while you’re waiting for the next big thing to come along. I know where you’re coming from; I got made redundant last year too, and the Apple Stores have been a lot of fun since.

I THINK I’M BEATING THIS DRUM TOO MUCH SO I’LL STOP NOW <3
