I got a call from mum this afternoon, she actually found my original birth certificate! So I don’t have to fuck around with getting a new one after all! Everything else that was a problem with the passport application is already sorted, the only hold-up was going to be that.

My husband had a similar problem when we tried to get married.. we almost couldnt get legally married at our wedding because we couldnt get the marriage lisence in time because his mother didnt have a legal copy of his birth certificate.. but fortunately we were able to pay $$ to get one mailed to us super-fast! Somehow it just didnt occur to us that his mom would mail us a “fake” birth certificate 😉
