Hee. We had a big throwing-out of all the old computers and crap that were just sitting in cupboards and things yesterday. I scored a PowerMac 8600/200. 🙂 It’s only got a 4GB HD, but it has 160MB RAM, and it’s got s-video in and out and RCA input and outputs on the back, as well as the normal plethora of ports. I’m going to install Yellow Dog Linux 3.0.1 on it. Probably going to get a KVM switch, so I only need the monitor that’s connected to my G4.
sc0re!
cunt! I want something like that, but do I work where they cycle PC’s, noo…..
*rants and raves off into the distance*
oh my god, don’t let xenex see this. he wanted to buy a first generation powerbook from a junk shop in wodonga, but apparently it didn’t even work 🙂
not that the stuff in the cupboard at apple would be *that* old of course.
You’d be surprised!
There was an SE/30, several II series Macs, quite a number of the original Power Macs… 🙂 No PowerBooks of any sort, though.
The one I scored was probably the best of the bunch. It came out in 1997.
