Nightwish was fucking awesome. The new vocalist is extremely good!

I’ve uploaded a bunch of photos. The only disappointment — and it’s not even anything to do with the band — is that they actually divided the venue up into two… people who ordered their tickets early got directly in front of the stage, and those of us that got them a bit later were a reasonable distance back, and we couldn’t get any closer. 🙁 I was really looking forward to getting some good pics from the front, and good christ I wish I’d been in the moshpit, it was going off.

All in all through, I’m very fucking impressed!

There’s a handful of movies I took as well, I’ll upload them later. Right now I’m crashing into bed!

Oh, I forgot to post, we saw Amon Amarth Sunday night before last. I was in the second row from the front, it fucking RULED. Took a bunch of pics with my phone, but of the 35-odd I took, these were the only decent ones. (Sammi’s Sony-Ericsson doesn’t take particularly sharp photos, but they’re not overly grainy. My phone is a Nokia 6110, in good light it’ll take great photos, but for things like concerts most of the photos end up grainy as shit. 🙁 )

By the time the concert was over my t-shirt was absolutely drenched, you’d swear I’d just been through a tropical rainstorm or something. 😛

We went to Gigantour at Luna Park both last night and Thursday night, the lineup was Lacuna Coil, Devildriver, Static X, and Megadeth.

Thursday night I drove in and there was a car accident on the Harbour Bridge which completely fucked the traffic everywhere, so we got there late and part-way through Lacuna Coil’s set (Lacuna Coil was primarily who I was going to see). Last night I made sure I got in early. I was right up the very front for Lacuna Coil, Devildriver, and Static X… fucking awesome.

I took a bunch of photos on Sammi’s phone, including one where Cristina (lead vocalist for Lacuna Coil) was looking straight at me! She was actually pointing as well, but Sammi’s phone camera has a massive delay between pressing the button and it actually taking the photo, so it didn’t actually catch it. I also scored a (Lacuna Coil) bass pick! 😀 Best concert ever!

Yes, I’m huge Lacuna Coil fanboy. Deal with it. 😛

I forgot to post, we went to see Arch Enemy, Trivium, and Machine Head last week at Luna Park. We went to both the Thursday and Friday night gigs… fucking awesome. 😀 Trivium sucked, but we weren’t there for them anyway.

Lily’s doing well, she’s able to pull herself upright in her cot already!

So many concerts coming up!

Next is both nights of the Black Crusade Tour (Arch Enemy, Machine Head, Shadows Fall, and Trivium) on the first and second of November at Luna Park. After that is Gigantour II (DevilDriver, Lacuna Coil, Static X, and Megadeth) on the sixteenth, also at Luna Park. Then is Behemoth in December, then Iron Maiden in February next year! \m/

And more shiny toys!

I almost forgot, I had my end-of-year performance review today, and I’m getting an 8.7% pay increase! 😀

We went and saw Marilyn Manson last night. Fucking excellent. Mum and dad took care of Lily for the night, so I got a solid uninterrupted eight hours of sleep. It was fantastic! 😛 I don’t think I’m actually capable of sleeping in anymore though… I woke up at 8:30 this morning, even though Lily was still with mum and dad and I really didn’t need to do anything, heh.
