I’ve been doing a bunch of reading over the past few days, and instead of getting a Canon EOS 50D, I’m going to spring for the 7D (along with the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS, followed at some point down the track by the EF 70-200mm f/4L IS).
It’ll mean saving up for longer so we won’t get it as quickly, but all the reviews I’ve read of it absolutely rave about it.
Very excited. 😀

We can use it on our honeymoon we have when we’re 40!
Man, that’s a step up from the 450D.
Is the 7D full-frame?
Nah, 1.6x crop.
That’s… vaguely unsettling.
True. This is far more hypnotic.
I’m getting Lumix in January and a Red Scarlet late next year, the bitch, of course, being the lenses.
Eh, I’m a bit wary of the non-Canon lenses, I’ve heard they’re quite hit-and-miss with the quality.
And the 17-55 is a bit pricey, but from everything I’ve read it’s basically L-glass without the red band and is one of the best EF-S lenses available.
