More Lily!

The first five were taken a few days ago at my house, the last six were just tonight at mum and dad’s.

I am currently playing lawn bowls in the office with a fake boob and a plastic Yoshi.

That is all.

I’m going through and clearing up all the umpteen hundred photos I’ve taken while screwing around with my new flash, heh. I’ll upload some of the decent ones later, but I had to upload this photo now.

A carpark sign showing row 2B that someone has scrawled underneath "Or not 2B!"

That was in the QVB’s carpark. I know it’s not original, but I giggled. You don’t see enough witty or intelligent graffiti these days. At least, I don’t anyway.

And I received a call from a very important person on Tuesday.

A photo of a call centre phone saying I have an incoming call from Santa Claus.

😀

Good news: the air conditioning at work is fixed.

Bad news: the day is draaaaaagging on. And I’ve run out of things to take photos of. Sigh.

The air conditioning has come on now, thankfully! It’s still a bit warm, but it’s not all humid and stuffy like it was previously.

I went down to JB Hi-fi at lunch and used my gift card. I bought Season 2 of Supernatural, and a snazzy new camera bag so I can fit my flash and tripod into it as well as the camera.

I’ve been at work for five and a quarter hours so far, and have taken exactly seven calls. All of them related to iPod/iTunes. The longest was twenty minutes, the rest were less than five. Whee.

ARRRRRGHHHHHHH

Not only am I working today, but the fucking air conditioning isn’t on! It’s stuffy and hot and horrible here already, and I’ve got another eight and a half hours to go. ::headdesk::

Phew! I’ve only just gotten back home. I woke up at 10:20, had breakfast and went up to mum and dad’s for lunch. Picked Lily up in the afternoon and she opened her presents, then dropped her off at night at Sammi’s parents’ place. Then I went up to a friend’s place, then over to another friend’s. And now here I am!

I got the flash, and holy shit is it awesome! My indoor photos look so much better. I also got a snazzy indoor/outdoor thermometer that also reads the humidity as well, plus a JB Hi-fi gift voucher.

Since I got the flash, naturally I was running around taking photos of all and sundry. I’ve uploaded a few to Flickr.

Unfortunately I’m working tomorrow. 🙁 But if past Boxing Days are anything to go by, it’ll be dead and we basically get paid to sit there and do nothing. 😀

I’m not working tomorrow, huzzah. So I get Christmas Eve off as well as Christmas.

We’re going over to a friend’s place tomorrow evening to crank out some Guitar Hero World Tour. I was sitting around tonight pondering what to do, and thought I should break out some Guitar Hero II to get some practice for tomorrow night. I was doing fairly horribly then thought “Hang on, why am I doing this?”. So I’ve started playing my actual real guitar again. 😀 Maybe this time I’ll keep at it. I had to start the tutorial DVD from the start again, because I’ve totally forgotten everything!

I’ve uploaded a few more photos. First batch are Lily from, the weekend.

And the second are some photos of a storm from my desk at work, taken last week.

And now, bed!

I’ve always had a bit of a ritual of cleaning and tidying my room up. When I was living with mum and dad, it was always Sunday night. With me having Lily every other week, it’s usually the Monday night after she goes back to Sammi for the week.

I find it comforting, perhaps even soothing. Everything all back in its proper place, nothing strewn all over the floor. Sort of like imposing order on my little tiny corner of the world. I always feel much more relaxed and peaceful when it’s finished.

In a similar vein, my favourite times of day are either really early morning, just after the sun rises but when no-one is awake yet, or really late at night, when everyone’s gone to bed already. I remember walking back from one of the sydneysiders meets way back when at like 4am, and there was this entire army of street cleaners out and about washing down the sidewalk and cleaning bins. It was like an entire other world I didn’t realise existed. It’s hard to explain, but I love that feeling.
