I really should start bringing my regular camera with me again, I think. The clouds this evening were spectactular, and I only had my iPhone on me.

Well, that was a productive afternoon!
I got my travel insurance and International Driving Permit sorted, plus have three more passport-sized photos for when they’re needed for the next visa application for kungfupolarbear, and bought a clothes rack.
Now to cook dinner!
Over the past couple of days I finished watching all of Season 4 of Supernatural that’s aired so far.
OMFG.
Anyone who hasn’t watched any of it yet, needs to. Holy shit it is fucking awesome. Of course, now I need to wait a week between episodes. Grumble. Life is HARD.
Woo point form updates!
• I’ve had yesterday and today off work sick. I’m all coldy and blocked up and icky-feeling. Thankfully this is my week off with Lily, so I won’t give it to her.
• I’m currently talking to kungfupolarbear on Skype and we’re talking about how we’re going to set up the furniture for our place, and what we’ll get, and it’s interspersed with random squeeing. 😀 I’m going to be over in Boston in exactly four weeks! And then we’ll be back here in just over six!
• I’ve decided to actually make use of my Tumblr account, and will be using it to post my random photos of various things (which will probably end up being mostly photos of Lily that have been altered with Camera Bag :P). The Tumblr app for the iPhone is very snazzy and makes it much easier to update, and with TwitterFeed it’ll send updates to Twitter.
• My parents have said they’ll pay for our wedding!! We’re still going to have a small do first, partially because planning a full wedding in three to four months would be horribly stressful, and kungfupolarbear‘s mum wants to be able to come too and she wouldn’t be able to get time off work that soon. But omfg. SQUEE. That was so totally unexpected. Dad said they wanted us to have something that wasn’t small and cheap and rushed. 🙂

There’s a very nasty thunderstorm rumbling around outside at the moment so I’ve shut everything down and unplugged it just to be on the safe side, but I can still get my interwebs fix on the iPhone!
…although it’s probably a little sad that I feel the need to do this in the first place. 😛
Speaking of the iPhone, there’s this very fun little app I’ve been fiddling with called Camera Bag that applies filters to your photos to make them look like they’ve been taken with various old-school cameras.

kungfupolarbear and I are planning out our trip down to Florida*!
The current idea looks like this. And spread over three days. The stops in Piscataway and Brick are to visit a couple of friends of hers, and the Aberdeen stop is to visit friends of my parents. After that there’ll be a stop somewhere between Aberdeen and St. Augustine, it just depends on how tired we are and how far we get. Once we’re in Florida we’re going to visit the Kennedy Space Center at some point too. There’s a shuttle launch set for 28th April, which is exactly when we’re in Florida! That would be very cool, assuming it doesn’t get pushed back.
Where “kungfupolarbear and I” is actually just kungfupolarbear since I have no idea where anything is.
SQUEE! We’ve booked our plane tickets!!
And holy fuck is the flight cheap! I’m going from Sydney to Boston via San Francisco on the way there, and then on the way back we’re going from Florida, via Denver and LA, back to Sydney. The total cost?
$1436.

I am very much enjoying living by myself! Just the sheer freedom of not having to worry about anyone else here is fantastic.
The only thing more awesome will be when kungfupolarbear is here!

I should also add, not having to deal with an overly anal-retentive passive-aggressive bitch is fantastic too (meaning my former roommate Mel, not Sammi, hah). I’m just dealing with her part of the bond that I owe, since she moved out and I’m still here. The notice of lodgement says it was $1740, and we both paid half, so that’d be $870 each. I messaged her saying that, and she’s arguing the point and thinking it should be more, not realising that the amount that we actually paid included a week’s rent. It turns out apparently it was a bit more than $870… all of SEVEN DOLLARS more. ffs. Who the fuck cares about $7?
kungfupolarbear can vouch for it, too. Mel’s boyfriend was living with us too (who I’ve actually known for many years now) and he’s great fun to hang out with. Except for when Mel is around… she’s just totally controlling and generally not nice to him at all. I really wish he would realise he could do so much better and just dump her. They were together for like six years before they broke up, but unfortunately they got back together again. I suspect it’s just familiarity more than anything else. Ugh. Not that it’s any of my business but still.
I’m cooking some tomato pasta sauce at the moment and decided to snap a few random macro photos. And do some Photoshopping.

kungfupolarbear got a call from the Australian Embassy today, she needs to send off the last bit of paperwork then the visa will be approved!
