I realised it’s been almost a month since I took any photos with my regular camera. I think I’ve just been feeling uninspired… and the total lack of furniture in my place at the moment kind of limits things too, heh. Photos of a large empty room? Not very interesting.

Once kungfupolarbear gets here (ELEVEN DAYS UNTIL I LEAVE, SQUEE) we’ll be out and about taking photos of all and sundry! Most of the photos I’ve been taking recently have been from my iPhone, altered with Camera Bag and uploaded to Tumblr.

I snapped a few photos of Lily with my full camera today, though only one was worth keeping.

I was combing her hair after her bath last night, and it’s actually getting really long! The sheer curliness of it disguises the length. And good lord does she manage to get some impressive knots in there. I’ve found the trick to her staying put so I can de-knot it all is to put on Shrek 2 and just have her sitting in my lap watching it while I comb. She’s discovered Monsters Inc now too and says “Mons-ers!” while we’re watching it. 🙂

Well, that was a productive afternoon!

I got my travel insurance and International Driving Permit sorted, plus have three more passport-sized photos for when they’re needed for the next visa application for kungfupolarbear, and bought a clothes rack.

Now to cook dinner!

Over the past couple of days I finished watching all of Season 4 of Supernatural that’s aired so far.

OMFG.

Anyone who hasn’t watched any of it yet, needs to. Holy shit it is fucking awesome. Of course, now I need to wait a week between episodes. Grumble. Life is HARD.

• I’ve had yesterday and today off work sick. I’m all coldy and blocked up and icky-feeling. Thankfully this is my week off with Lily, so I won’t give it to her.

• I’m currently talking to kungfupolarbear on Skype and we’re talking about how we’re going to set up the furniture for our place, and what we’ll get, and it’s interspersed with random squeeing. 😀 I’m going to be over in Boston in exactly four weeks! And then we’ll be back here in just over six!

• I’ve decided to actually make use of my Tumblr account, and will be using it to post my random photos of various things (which will probably end up being mostly photos of Lily that have been altered with Camera Bag :P). The Tumblr app for the iPhone is very snazzy and makes it much easier to update, and with TwitterFeed it’ll send updates to Twitter.

• My parents have said they’ll pay for our wedding!! We’re still going to have a small do first, partially because planning a full wedding in three to four months would be horribly stressful, and kungfupolarbear‘s mum wants to be able to come too and she wouldn’t be able to get time off work that soon. But omfg. SQUEE. That was so totally unexpected. Dad said they wanted us to have something that wasn’t small and cheap and rushed. 🙂

kungfupolarbear and I are planning out our trip down to Florida*!

The current idea looks like this. And spread over three days. The stops in Piscataway and Brick are to visit a couple of friends of hers, and the Aberdeen stop is to visit friends of my parents. After that there’ll be a stop somewhere between Aberdeen and St. Augustine, it just depends on how tired we are and how far we get. Once we’re in Florida we’re going to visit the Kennedy Space Center at some point too. There’s a shuttle launch set for 28th April, which is exactly when we’re in Florida! That would be very cool, assuming it doesn’t get pushed back.

Where “kungfupolarbear and I” is actually just kungfupolarbear since I have no idea where anything is.

SQUEE! We’ve booked our plane tickets!!

And holy fuck is the flight cheap! I’m going from Sydney to Boston via San Francisco on the way there, and then on the way back we’re going from Florida, via Denver and LA, back to Sydney. The total cost?
