I’m not very good at writing about such things, so I’ll just say it flat out… kungfupolarbear and are I now a couple. 🙂

We’re just so ridiculously perfect for each other, it’s amazing. Yes, there’s the slight problem of living on two completely separate continents. 😛 But we’re working on that! The last two weeks have been awesome. It was quite a teary goodbye at the airport today, on both our parts. 🙁 But I’m staying positive, as we’re both committed to working things out.

It’s pissing down here at the moment, rumbling with thunder, everything’s all wet, dripping, and reflective, so I figured I’d see if I could get some good photos.

Nightwish was fucking awesome. The new vocalist is extremely good!

I’ve uploaded a bunch of photos. The only disappointment — and it’s not even anything to do with the band — is that they actually divided the venue up into two… people who ordered their tickets early got directly in front of the stage, and those of us that got them a bit later were a reasonable distance back, and we couldn’t get any closer. 🙁 I was really looking forward to getting some good pics from the front, and good christ I wish I’d been in the moshpit, it was going off.

All in all through, I’m very fucking impressed!

There’s a handful of movies I took as well, I’ll upload them later. Right now I’m crashing into bed!

I was tooling around again yesterday evening with the super-macro mode on my camera, took some shots of my guitar.

I took a few night-time long exposure shots just before I went to bed too, but haven’t gotten around to uploading them.

And I’m going to see Nightwish tonight! I’ve brought my actual (now old) camera — the Canon Ixus 500 — and will see if I can snap some actual good pics. 😉

Apparently it’s hot as buggery outside too (I wouldn’t know, I’m in delicious office air-conditioning. 😀 In fact, it’s cool enough that I’ve got my jumper on ;)).

Phew! I’m finally back from Queensland. 🙂

We left last Saturday, and arrived back this evening a bit before 6pm. We were staying at The Beach House in Coolangatta, on the Gold Coast. The rooms were quite awesome, and the view! Holy crap. The Beach House is 17 stories, and we were on the 16th floor, facing the beach and the ocean. 🙂

We went to Dreamworld on Tuesday, which was quite awesome. Other than that we didn’t do all that much…wandered around Coolangatta, taking in the sights. I took a bunch of pics, mostly from our balcony and from the beach (see here).

I’m going to invest in a tripod for my camera, I think, and check out how much lenses are as well…
