Well, I’m now officially a dad!

Lily Madeline was born at 6:30 this morning (after a 24 hour labour and lots of needles, Sammi said D: ), weighing 3.7kg. No complications, thankfully, and Lily’s doing fine although Sammi is a little worse for the wear!

Most likely going to visit her this afternoon.

Looks like my daugher will be a rocking child, satanic_angel… first of May tomorrow and she’s still not here! 😉

Man… “my daughter”. Never thought I’d be saying that. I like it, though. 🙂 And I’m pleased it’s a girl rather than a boy. No idea why.

And on a totally different subject, I bought Guitar Hero II yesterday. And even this has reminded me that I have no musical talent whatsoever… I cannot keep time to save my life. I’m trying to either tap my foot or count “1, 2, 3, 4” in my head at a constant rate, and whenever the guitar starts differing from that, so does either the tapping or the counting. Gah!

Happy birthday to me! At 4:12 this morning I’ll be officially 24. 😉

I got my presents and things tonight (Thursday night) as my grandma came over for birthday dinner.

The only problem with having a disposable income is that you tend to buy yourself everything you want, leaving practically nothing left over for presents to buy for birthdays. 😉

I was just talking with minga, and I realised it’s been four and a half years since I got my tongue piercing! I can’t believe it’s been that long.

Also, at work, they’ve changed things so the Tier 2 calls from 7-9pm go over to Cork in Ireland, which means we don’t get free parking anymore, which means I have to catch the bus in. 🙁 Fuckers!

w00t! All the house renovations are finally finished. 🙂

The painting was finished last week, and the floors were put in today. Despite my initial reservations about wooden floors, these look schmick. The wood is kemper, and it’s not all cold and horrible as I was expecting.

Pics will be forthcoming once my new computer arrives and everything is finally set up. (There’s still a bunch of stuff in the garage at the moment, too… we didn’t get a chance to move it all back in tonight as the flooring mob only left at 18:30). My new monitor is currently sitting on L-to-Z of the Yellow Pages, as it’s a bit too low sitting directly on the desk… it’s a classy look. I’m going to get something custom-built to sit on top of my desk to raise the height of all my monitors up a few centimetres.

(Ok, I lied about all the renovations being finished… the eaves will be painted next week, but all the intrusive, getting-woken-up-by-big-boots-tromping-through-the-house stuff is done).

Happy birthday to me!

I got the second Goodies DVD, Red Dwarf VI, a pair of black pants, a nice black collared shirt, and a very nice almost-full-length wool coat (black, of course).

😀

And thanks to all the people who’ve wished me a happy birthday today. 🙂 <3

Ugh.

I severely hope tonight’s sleep is better than last night’s. 🙁 I was lying awake for almost three hours trying to get to sleep. Then, when I finally did, I kept waking up either too hot or too cold.

Then when I woke up, I was feeling all light-headed and nauseous, and ended up taking the day off work.

And to top it off, the cat that comes around to our house every few days that we feed decided to take a fucking shit all over my floor. And we’re not talking about normal shit. This was sloppy, disgusting diarrhea-type stuff that gets stuck in the carpet. I’m still getting wafts of it now, eight hours and lots and LOTS of scrubbing later.

Today has just sucked, basically.

Bleh.

Well. I went and got my labret pierced today. 🙂 At least I can eat stuff, unlike when I got my tongue pierced, although I have to take small bites and eat slowly or the stud catches on my teeth. 🙁 I’ll be going back in four weeks to get the much shorter bar put in.

Couldn’t be arsed taking pictures at the moment, though. 😛

Phew! I’m finally back from Queensland. 🙂

We left last Saturday, and arrived back this evening a bit before 6pm. We were staying at The Beach House in Coolangatta, on the Gold Coast. The rooms were quite awesome, and the view! Holy crap. The Beach House is 17 stories, and we were on the 16th floor, facing the beach and the ocean. 🙂

We went to Dreamworld on Tuesday, which was quite awesome. Other than that we didn’t do all that much…wandered around Coolangatta, taking in the sights. I took a bunch of pics, mostly from our balcony and from the beach (see here).

My favourite pic would have to be this one:

Surfers + balconies at night 1

I’m going to invest in a tripod for my camera, I think, and check out how much lenses are as well…

Now, to catch up on a week’s worth of news and LJ entries… 😉
